A cast copper-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is as Meols type 8 with oval frame, offset and narrowed rectangular bar, and expanded outer edge. The outer edge is D-shaped in section, sub-rectangular in form with three transverse moulded grooves that produce four sub-oval shaped lobes. Hinging around the bar is a separately cast copper-alloy pin that is flat, triangular in form and tapers to a sharp tip. The entire object has extensive post-depositional corrosion and measures 21.99mm in width, 18.78mm in length, 4.71mm in thickness and 4.52g in weight. This buckle frame is of Medieval date, with close parallels noted from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991: nos. 292, 302, 318). It is of probable 14th century AD date.
