A cast copper-alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date, c. 1660-1720.
The buckle retains only the frame, missing the crossbar that would have formed the double-looped shape. Each 'loop' is D-shaped, with flaring arms that come to a point before curving into the outer frame. The outer frame is thicker than the arms. A thickened double-collar protrusion is found in the centre of the buckle on each side of the frame, with a separate cross bar set into these.
When complete, the buckle would likely have had a chape as well as a pin.
