Copper alloy brooch fragment, Colchester derivative with variant Polden Hill spring attachment. Wings and top of bow only, missing spring, pin (but axis bar survives); very corroded. The axis bar is enclosed by 7mm wide flaps at the wing ends; a rear hook would have held the spring chord. The wings have a single groove midway (the terminals are corroded). The stub of the bow is rounded in section and very corroded. Width 31mm, surviving length 11mm. Type as West Stow no.160.
