Post-medieval lead whirligig or buzz wheel, sub-circular, with thirty-five V-shaped peripheral notches of varying sizes. Diameter 40 - 44mm. Thickness 2 - 2.3mm. The string holes, diameter 4mm, are 3mm apart. Weight 25.28g. Most such objects found in London are of lead alloy (Forsyth with Egan 2005, 387-91), but this example seems to be of nearly pure lead. 17th - 18th century.
