A Medieval lead alloy pilgrim's souvenir - A Canterbury bell probably dating to the 15th century. The bell is a truncated cone shape with a flat reverse, as if it has meant to be mounted against a flat surface. This flat reverse is damaged with crack running down it. There are two broken knops on the upper surface suggesting there was once a suspension loop. There is a worn molded inscription around the rim reading in Lombardic capitals + CAM [...]. It is possible that it could have once read CAMPAN THOMEA Thomas' bell. This bell is very similar to one found in London no.126 (Spencer 1998: 123-5). Another can be seen on the database: LON-C82858

The bell is 45.9mm high, 73.7mm wide, 2.2mm thick and weighs 59.1 grams.
