A cast lead alloy spindle whorl dating from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period. The object is circular in plan and biconical. The object has a central circular perforation with an internal diameter of 8.82mm. Possible linear decoration can be seen on one face of the object however it is too worn to be certain. The object has a mid-brown patina and is worn.
Similar examples of spindle whorls have been found in contexts dating from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period, however the most are dated to the Medieval period.
