Medieval cast lead secular badge, heart-shaped, the face decorated with oblique hatching and cross-hatching within a border of pellets and with a pelleted bend overall. The reverse has a central vertical casting seam and the stump of the springing of a probable pin. Length 21mm. Width 18mm. Probably a lover's badge or love-token, rather than a pilgrim badge. See Spencer (1998), 321-3, and an identical find on the PAS database (NARC-C3DD50). Late 14th-15th century.
