Cast saucer brooch with six running spirals, pin missing. A central boss is surrounded by a ring which in turn is surrounded by a six-pointed star. Each point of the star extends to become a tongue, curving to the right in a half circle and joining an incoming tongue, offshooting from the flange above the next spiral to the right, bearing left and curving back on itself. Thus the spiral is defined. Surrounding the running spirals is a plain flange and projecting upwards from this and slightly outwards is the rim. The flange and the central boss are a little higher in relief than the star and the running spirals; the area in between has been chip-carved. The reverse (27mm diam) has the remains of a catchplate and pin-attachment lug. The edge of the rim is chipped in places but is mostly intact. Diam 34mm, depth of rim 4mm.
