Medieval or post-medieval sheet copper alloy folded rivet, probably a repair for a copper-alloy vessel. The rivet is made from a lozenge-shaped piece of sheet the ends of which have been folded in to meet in the middle and then back out. One end is missing due to a patinated break at the fold. It measures 21.5mm by 13.2mm by 4.3mm and weighs 1.77g.
A similar rivet is illustrated in Egan's 'Medieval Household' (1998, p. 176, no. 489) and in Egan (2005,101) Fig: 87 suggesting a long date range of c. AD 1100-1700.
