A cast copper alloy foot and part of a leg from a vessel, probably a Medieval posnet. The leg is broadly triangular in section with a flat back and sides. The fragment is flared, wider at the bottom than the top. It measures 53.1mm in length, 30.3mm in width at the bottom and 25.9mm at the top, 19.4mm in thickness and weighs 84.65g. A parallel can be seen on this database in SWYOR-2BD225.

Unlike other examples of this type (e.g. SOM-BD0395), there is no 'hoof'-like shaping on the foot, instead being completely flat. However, this example is very worn. Butler, Green and Payne (2009, pg. 4) suggest that this triangular cross section and no outer decorative ribs (type b) date to the late 15th / early 16th centuries based on evidence from the Mary Rose.
