Copper alloy, open cast button of Medieval date with integral loop. The button is a hollow sphere, terminating in a point at the bottom and the integral loop projecting from the top. The sphere has an openwork pattern formed of twelve oval voids with a pointed top, or 'teardrop' shaped. The loop is a rectangular tab with the end rounded with an off-centre circular hole for suspension. The button is complete. Several examples can be found on this database and in Norwich Households, East Anglian Archaeology 59, page 21, number 102.
