Medieval copper alloy button consisting of flat heart-shaped head with integral drilled loop. The front is decorated with closely spaced, oblique engraved lines around an engraved upside-down heart containing dashed lines. File marks on flat reverse. Length 18mm. Width 16mm. Thickness of head 1mm. Length of loop 8mm. See Read 2005, 14, no.40, whose head is flat-backed but of flattened V-profile on the front face. 15th century.
