An incomplete, plain, Colchester bow brooch. Copper alloy with a moderately long forward facing chord hook surviving, along with a short length of the integral spring. The bow section is oval and undecorated. The catchplate is missing, cut or snapped close to the bow. Length from wings to foot 42mm. Similar to Bayley and Butcher (2004 62 no. 49).
