A bone spindle whorl. A domed spindle whorl with a slightly off-centre drilled hole (diameter 9.02 mm at the top). The hole has an hour glass profile. The spindle whorl has been made from a femural or humeral head (the ball joint of an upper limb bone) from an animal. The dome shape is the natural shape of the bone. The base is fairly flat, but there is a slight step part way across where the angle of cutting has changed when the ball joint was cut from the rest of the bone.
