Late medieval lead alloy button, 26mm in diameter and 14mm wide. The object is in good condition and weighs 14.23garms. The face of the button is slightly domed and is 5mm thick. It is decorated with a series of 6 domes 3mm in diameter, which are joined by three raised lines in a row. The rest of the field is filled by smaller domes 1 and 2mm in diameter. The reverse has a raised casting scar running across its centre and from the centre of this emerges the remains of a fixing loop.
The button is similar to, but a much better example of, a button in Bailey, 2004. P19, fig 6.8 dated to the 14th-15th C.
