An incomplete cast copper alloy fragment, of uncertain function and dating.
The artefact is of irregular plan and section. Both front and back are flat and undecorated. The external edges are bevelled. The plan of the artefact is similar to that of a debased fleur de lys.
It measures 24.20 mm in length, 21.07 mm wide and 3.78 mm thick. It weighs 5.4 grams.
The artefact is a dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface.
No direct parallel has been found at the time of recording for this artefact, therefore the dating and function remain uncertain.
