A complete, Stone Age, knapped, medium size worked flint blade or possible burin/piercing tool. The lithic implement has a narrow vesica shape with an 'expanded' proximal end. It has a pale brown/grey colour with a grey spot inclusion on the dorsal surface, a bulb of percussion with small bulbar scar, small platform and fine ripples. There has also been some fine secondary working to produce the pointed distal end and four blade beds on the dorsal surface. This lithic is likely to date to the Neolithic-Bronze Age period. Ref. Detector Finds 5, Gordon Bailey, Greenlight Publishing 2002, page 9-15 fig. 3 & 7 and Prehistoric Flintwork, Chris Butler, reprint 2011, History Press, page 36-52. The lithic is 43.37mm long, 20.37mm wide, 8.78mm thick and weighs 5.9g.
