Cast copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Part 3, Group 5.a2, flat wing ends type, Western Group)flat wing ends type of Western Group. Rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings hold the pin support bar, the spring is made from eleven curls, the pin is complete. There is a loop at the top of the head that holds the external cord. A crest runs from the loop, down the length of the brooch, the shoulders are expanded. The lower part of the bow and catch plate are missing. It has length 35mm, width 23mm, thickness 14mm, weight 9.72g. Date 80-120AD
