A copper alloy Medieval jetton probably issued under Charles VII (1422 - 1461) in France, probably at the Paris mint. Shield of France modern type dating from about 1418 - 1437 with a double stranded arcuate cross on the reverse and no reverse legend. The jetton is similar to Mitchiner number 523 on page 192, but the reverse has crown ornaments instead of "lis accosted by rosettes" as on the Mitchiner example. There is a small piece of the jetton missing.
