Incomplete post-medieval copper alloy spur, D-sectioned sides, one broken, the other with a symmetrically placed heart-shaped figure-of-eight terminal, curved rowel box with two transverse ribs and pierced rounded terminals, rowel missing. Terminal similar to those of rowel spurs of the Civil War period from Beeston Castle (Ellis, B. in Ellis, P. 1993, 165-9, fig. 114.23-5). Length 99mm. Width 69mm. 17th century.
