Cast naturalistic life sized model of a leaping frog, with body and legs extended; the webbed feet, which were perhaps points of attachment, are lost. This object was probably soldered to a pewter drinking mug. In some cases these would be decorative external mounts or would serve as handles; in others, related to 'puzzle mugs', the fixture would only be revealed as the contents were consumed. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1750-1800.
