A fragment of Post-Medieval (1600-1800) copper alloy rowel spur consisting of the neck, rowel box and parts of both arms. Traces of tinning survive on the underside of the neck.

The neck is oval in cross section (7.61x6.69mm at its narrowest point) and projects c.21mm from the outer shoulders of the arms. It has a central slot for the rowel (now filled with iron corrosion). The flared rowel box measures 12.59x6.92mm at its terminus and curves downwards.

The arms are D-shaped in cross-section, being flat on the inside. There is no decoration. Both arms have broken ends. The breaks are not new. Weight: 24.37g. Length: 63.28mm. Width: 52.09mm. Maximum thickness at the join of the arms: 12.08mm. A similar spur is recorded under reference WILT-F48985
