An incomplete copper alloy Early-Medieval - Medieval (600-1150) hooked tag, missing the tip of its hook. It belongs to Read's Early-Medieval Class A Type 6, 'heart-shaped', with two attachment holes and a central multiple-rings-and-dot. It measures 13.51x11.14x3.54mm and weighs 0.38g.
The central dot pierces the metal and is surrounded by three grooved concentric circles (rings). Between the two pierced lobes is a smaller triangular projection, and either side of the top of the hook is a flat knop. The plate is 0.89mm thick. Read suggests a broad 7th to early 12th century date for similar hooked tags.
