A worn cast copper alloy mount or hinge fitting, probably dating to the medieval period. The mount is roughly linear and has a trefoil terminal at one end, with central iron rivet (intact), behind which is a stem that lead leads into a trapezoidal-shaped openwork frame. At the rear of this frame is a thin looped extension, presumably to fit a over a bar and enabling movement. It may be that this object is a small belt or strap fitting or hanger, although a small book hinge or clasp has also been suggested. General medieval date, c. AD 1250-1500.
