A cast copper alloy half ounce trade weight probably of post medieval date, AD 1600 - 1900. It is circular with a dished upper surface and a narrow rim. The dished section is marked with two concentric rings and with two punched marks. One mark consists of a crown or coronet made up of three plumes rising from a rectangular base, the other has been damaged and is indecipherable, but may be a letter W and is possibly an inspector's mark. The underside is plain. The weight has a light green patina. It is 22mm in diameter and 5.4mm thick. It weighs 12.81gm (0.45oz).
