A notched flint blade of later Mesolithic date (4000 -3000 BC). The blade is rectangular in plan and has a crested cross section. In profile it is very bowed. The striking platform and bulb of percussion are present on the ventral face. Both long edges have been heavily reworked - especially the left hand edge which has a series of parallel flake removals that have created a serrated cutting and scraping edge. This retouch has been applied on both the ventral and dorsal edges. The tip has also been reworked on the dorsal face. A large notch is present on the right hand edge - but this is a result of modern damage in the plough soil. The flint is a mid grey colour with milky grey white coloured inclusions.
The blade measures 43.1mm in length, 18.4mm width, is 5.4mm thick and weighs 4.71 grams.
