A partially polished flint axe dating to the later Neolithic period (circa 2500 BC to 2100 BC). The axe is sub-rectangular in plan and gently tapers to the butt. The body and butt are pointed-oval/lozenge in cross-section. The cutting edge is polished, and measures 38mm in length. The polished area is roughly triangular, tapering from the cutting edge to the centre of the body at which point it is at its thickest, measuring 29mm. The rest of the axe resembles a rough-out. The axe is a mottled yellow-cream colour with localised patches of reddish staining.
