A cast copper alloy object, probably of Roman date, but of uncertain purpose or original extent. The object appears to be of cylindrical construction but there are a number of flat facets which suggest it is a component of a larger assembly. Within the wider terminal, which has a slightly flaring rim, is a rounded groove which suggests a housing for a swivelling component. Little remains of the longer body of the object but this appears to have had a square or sub-square section with flattened sides.
The bright green patina suggests a Roman date.
