A small, locally made Medieval jug, probably dating from the 12th - 14th century. One handle remains, the other is lost. The vessel is in the form of a vase with narrow opening for pouring and slightly under-turned flanged rim. Fabric is hard but sandy. Probably related to the Abbey/ecclesiastical usage, possibly a chrismatory for holy oil / water.
