A copper-alloy openwork mount of post-Medieval (probably 17th century) date.
The mount takes the form of a flower. At its top, the central stalk terminates in a ring-shaped head with central pellet. This is set between a 'V-shaped' arrangement of leaves, at the base of which is a pointed projection, set at a right angle to the stalk. The corroded surface retains traces of gilding. On the flat underside of the mount are two integrally cast rivets of circular section. Both of these rivets have been deliberately bent inwards, the lower one being incomplete.
