A complete flint burin of late Mesolithic date (6300-4300 BC). The lithic is sub rectangular in profile with a tapered point/spur in the left hand distal edge and abruptly blunted proximal edge. The dorsal surface is convex with invasive flaking to the right hand aspect and retained cortex to the left. There is minor retouch to the left and right hand edges. The ventral surface is smooth with the exception of one minor flake at the distal end, there is evidence of shallow ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end.
The flint is a mid to dark grey in colour with cream inclusions throughout. The cortex is a light brown in colour.
