A cast lead spindle whorl of Roman or later date. It is circular in form, dome-shaped in section with a central circular aperture. The back face is flat but has a slight lip or rim around the edge resultant from the method of manufacture. It measures 22.83mm in diameter, 11.20mm in thickness, and weighs 24.14g. This is a lead spindle whorl that may be of any date from the Roman period onwards although perhaps most likely from the Medieval or Post-Medieval periods.
