An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy single-loop buckle (c. AD 1300-1500).
The frame is trapezoidal in plan, convex at the front and flat at the rear. It has an outer edge which is curved in plan and the bar is worn mid-way along its length where the missing pin was situated
It is corroded to a green colour and has traces of a green patina.
19.46 x 24.78 x 2.28mm. Weight: 2.51g.
Broadly similar trapezoidal buckles have been published and dated c. 1300-1500 (Whitehead 1996: 26).
