A Medieval copper alloy horizontal harness suspension mount. The object is "T" shaped, the horizontal uppermost bar has a cusped collar at either end that terminate in a circular knop with an extended axial lobe finial. The knops are centrally pierced with circular holes that would have taken rivets for attachment. In the centre and on the lower side of the horizontal bar, and protruding perpendicular to it, there are two short integral stubs with rounded ends, between which the loop of a suspended fitting remains secured in place by a circular section horizontal axis bar. Below the loop of the suspension fitting and integral with it there are two similar stubs between which the remains of the suspension loop of a pendant survive, held in place by a horizontal axis bar. The remains of the suspended pendant are missing from an old break at this point. There is a similar mount illustrated in Clark; The Medieval Horse and its Equipment (2004) p69; No. 73 from a circa 1350-1400 context. The assembly has a light green to dark green patination and is 38mm long (note the bar is bent), 2.2mm thick and weighs 5.82g.
