A Post Medieval silver threepence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603 AD). Second Issue, pheon initial and reverse marks dated to 1561. Obverse depicts a crowned bust facing left with rose behind head right with inner beaded circle; legend reads: ELIZABETH D.G. ANG FRA ET HI REGINA. Reverse depicts a long cross fourchee over a square-topped royal shield surmounted by date '1561'; legend reads: POSUI DEU ADIUTOREM MEU. Cf. North 1991 Vol II, p135, No. 1998.
