Roman pot body sherd of a finely potted white ware, with a hand applied white slip to the interior. The body has what appears to be ironstone inclusions in it. The fabric suggests that this may be a sherd of Nene Valley ware or a copy of it. It may possibly be a form of Oxfordshire white ware, arguments against being the presence of iron in the fabric & the types quite restricted distribution. Oxfordshire white ware dates to between c100 and c410 AD, with a peak after c240 AD. Measures 30 x 16 x 3mm. Weighs 2.5g. Dates to between c100 and c410 AD.
