An extremely worn, bent and torn groat of Mary, dated to 1553-1554 AD. Privy mark illegible, but would have been a pomegranate. Detail on the obverse is almost entirely missing due to severe surface wear, however it is possible to read traces of the obverse legend: MAR[IA] [DG] ANG FRA Z [h]YB REGI[NA]; no trace of the bust remains and a bend in the coin runs through the centre. The reverse depicts a long cross fourchee over royal square-topped shield. The reverse legend reads: VERI[TAS] [TEMP]OR(I)S F[ILIA]. Cf. North 1991 Vol II, No. 1960.
