A fragment of a cast copper-alloy linch pin of Iron Age date. It is the terminal foot of the pin, the rest missing due to old breaks. It is circular, with the top part missing and at the rear it curves to form the base of the shank. The face is decorated with an inner circle with large central cell slightly off-centre. There is a very small amount of red enamel remaining in the groove between the inner circle and central cell. It measures 16.96mm in length, 18.55mm in width, 10.22mm in thickness and weighs 9.71g.
It is similar to other linch pins recorded on the database, for example from Kettlebaston, SF-42A1A0 and Alderton, SF-AC9AD2.
