An unidentified fragment cast in copper alloy formed of a curving arm, broken at one end and terminating at the other in a plain, bun-shaped knop, circular in plan (8.5mm in length and 10.6mm in diameter). Emerging seamlessly from the centre of the base of the knop is the curved shank which is circular in cross-section and tapers towards the old break (max. Th.: 4.8mm, min. Th. 4.0mm). The artefact has a grey patina with some pitting.
Although the object's alloy suggests that it is of some age the artefact's function is hard to ascertain: it has been suggested as a terminal fragment of a penannular brooch, but also a bracelet. With the former in mind it can be compared to a Roman brooch illustrated in Bishop (1996, 61; ref. 353).
