A Medieval ceramic vessel sherd with a lead alloy pot mend in situ. Just part of the base survives and the vessel would have had a base diameter of about 10cm. The fabric is grey in the centre but orange on the base. It is hard and fine with few visible inclusions, just very small flecks of white, perhaps quartz. Both faces are completely glazed with a rich olive green glaze. A rounded patch of lead has been applied to the inside of the base, presumably to mend a hole or crack.
