Silver sixpence or shilling of Charles I (1625-49). Obverse depicts crowned bust left with an 'I' to the right of the head, forming part of 'VI' for a sixpence, or 'XII' for a shilling. Reverse depicts a shield divided into four quarters by a cross with a circular lobe at the bottom of the vertical line: inscribed [...] [AU] SPI [CE] [...]
