An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap fitting of post-medieval date. The fitting has a flat back and front with bevelled sides and a thickened lobed knop at one end. The knop has a domed top and flat back. Above the knop is a double raised collar with a groove between. Above the collars is a constriction then a ring with a large circular central hole; the ring. Above the ring is another constriction then it widens to an end bar; in the constricted area is a central circular hole. The horizontal bar is divided into two by a transverse groove and has been bent upwards slightly at one end. The artefact has suffered losses along its edges. This mount appears similar to a suit of fittings thought to be from 16th - 17th century sword belts that also include toggle fastenings with similar shapes and decoration (e.g. LON-8F4797). See HAMP-0E1FF7 and Read (2008, 209; ref. 757) for similar examples to this mount.
