Handle. A sandy fabric with ferruginous inclusions, either from the Roxby area or from near ironstone deposits at Claxby or Nettleton. Strap handle with corrugated ridges, spots of relict glaze adhere. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1350. This sherd was kindly identified by Wallace Collyer of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group.
