An incomplete copper alloy trumpet brooch dating to the Roman period, 1st-2nd centuries AD. The brooch is missing the pin however, the rest of the brooch is present. The head is oval in shape with a circular loop attached that would have held the pin in place. There is a curved bow with moulded decoration about halfway down. The foot is circular in shape with an incised line around the circumference and the catchplate is present and complete. The metal is green in colour with some mottled lighter areas. It weighs 13.2g and measures 61.71mm in length. See Hattatt, R. (2000) A visual catalogue of Ancient Brooches, Oxbow: 326: fig. 185, no. 81.
