Probable Weight. Cast conical weight with a rounded top and an irregular indentation at the base. A central longitudinal hole, probably cast using a former, tapers from 4.6mm to 3.5mm diameter from base to top. Patinated overall. The mass may suggest this object to represent one half of an (underweight) Roman pound or libra. The hole here could, have accommodated a suspension loop, the weight of which might have brought this object to match the Roman libra. Suggested date: Possibly Roman, 40-400.
