A fragmentary copper-alloy finger-ring of probable medieval date; the majority of the hoop has been lost as a result of old damage. The bezel is broadly circular in plan. It is sub-biconical in profile, with the taller upper cone truncated and with an inverted conical recess to take a setting; the latter is now missing. On its lower surface the bezel is even further truncated, merely bevelled to a flattened circular centre. The junction of bezel and hoop is on this lower part of the bezel. The hoop is narrow and has a flattened circular cross-section. There is slight 'pinching' on the lower surface as the hoop begins on both sides. To one side of the bezel around a quarter of the hoop survives. Only a small section survives to the other side, bent to one side. The artefact now has a largely dark-green patina. See ref. BH-6459D8 on this database for a similar example.
