Pottery

Body Sherd. Hard fine dull red fabric with thick black internal and external glaze, from a large thin walled vessel. The internal glaze is bubbled so as to expose the fabric beneath, so a kitchen function would perhaps be unlikely. Suggested date: Modern, 1800-1950. This sherd was kindly examined by Helen Fry, Sandra Firth and Hazel West of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group.

Thickness: 6mm, Weight: 99.17gms
