Copper alloy chisel. Cast chisel with a tapered triangular blade unevenly worn, and a slightly expanded round section shaft of diameter 6.6mm. At its maximum expansion this is then squared and tapered to form a whittle tang. The finder suggests a Bronze Age date for this object. This may be apt, though a more recent date might be equally appropriate, especially if the tool were intended for work with leather or finer woodwork. Suggested date: Possibly Late Bronze Age, 1150-800 BC.
