An incomplete probably Post-Medieval (1500-1700) openwork probable strap distributor with domed centre boss. It is missing just less than half. Measures 29.28x29.04x8.13mm and weighs 6.7g.
The plate around the centre boss (c.12mm diameter) is more or less circular in shape with an oval perforation in each quarter (although only two of these remain intact). Between each quarter protrudes a semi-circular lug (again, only two survive) with a rivet hole c.3mm in diameter just below (three rivet holes survive). The plate is flat (2.68mm thick) though hollowed to the reverse behind the centre boss, which is topped with knop.
