An undatable but probably Bronze Age to Iron Age (2150 BC - AD 100) copper alloy openwork mount, curving in profile and lozenge-shaped. It measures 34.80x36.84x2.09mm and weighs 5.9g.
The mount is concave to the reverse and convex to the front. Its edges are concave. In two opposing corners is a rivet hole, 2.45mm and 2.67mm in diameter. If the mount is viewed with the rivet holes horizontally aligned, at the centre of the mout are two circular perforations, 8.15mm and 8.41mm in diameter, vertically aligned. A line of circular punches flanks the edge of each and a further line of circular punches taking an oval shape encircles both perforations. A line of circular punches also flanks the concave edges, although along one edge they appear to peter out towards the corner. The line also meeting at this corner also peters out but quite close to the corner. The formerly mentioned edge has some damage or wear.
To the reverse hammering marks are apparent. To the decorated face, the patina is smooth and shiny and green/ dark brown in colour.
